How to Revoke an SSL Certificate
Not recommended.
If you just need to generate a new security key, use regenerate instead.
If you revoke a Free SSL certificate (other than those automatically generated for Web Hosting) you will not be able to generate a new SSL certificate for free for the same domain.
If you revoke your certificate within 30 days of its creation, you can contact support to ask about a possible refund. The refund is not possible if you revoke a renewed certificate.
A multi-year certificate allows you to pay for several years of certificates up front. Multi-year certificates still require a simple and free renewal process to regenerate the certificate each year to remain valid. If you fail to complete this simplified renewal process, your certificate will be revoked and you will lose the remaining time on your multi-year certificate.
To revoke:
- After logging into your account, select “SSL Certificates” from the left navigation menu.
- Click on the three dot icon to the far right of the certificate you want to revoke.
- Select “Revoke” from the drop down menu.
- Click “Revoke” again to confirm.
