Server

A computer that delivers the content of a website is called a Server. As you probably prefer your visitors to be able to see your website at all times, Servers are a kind of computer that is always "active" and always connected to the Internet. This is more useful than if your visitors could only see your website when your personal computer is switched on and connected: visitors would quickly give up because they wouldn't know when your computer is available. The term "Server" is used to describe any computer designed to be continuously available.
