Domain renewal

Renewal: You can choose automatic or manual renewal.

Since July 13, 2023, the Gandi Mail email service is no longer free: your Gandi Mail mailboxes will be charged separately from the domain name renewal. 

Remember, if it’s a matter of urgency, and if you have lost your Gandi handle:

Gandi's website allows you to renew a domain on behalf of its owner from shop.gandi.net/en/ .

However, the person who pays for the renewal does not automatically become the owner of the domain. Nor do they gain access to the domain. 

In the event of accidental renewal due to confusion between registration and renewal, no refund can be issued (Registries' policy, not Gandi's). Therefore check that you are the current owner of the domain, or that it is the correct domain if you are renewing it for a third party.

How to renew your Domain Name

Remember that if you've forgotten your login information, you can still renew the domain. Simply create a new "temporary" account for this operation. Then go to shop.gandi.net/en/ 

In the "Search" field, enter the name of the domain you wish to renew. Don't put www in front of it (this is a subdomain, not the domain name itself).

Important:

Be sure to check the spelling of the domain so as not to accidentally "create" a new domain, and be sure that it is your domain, otherwise you will be renewing it on behalf of someone else (with no refund possible from Gandi). You CANNOT claim ownership of a domain by renewing it.

If you have several domains to renew, click on "Multiple Search" to enlarge the field and add your domains, one per line. Click on "Add all to cart" or on the " shopping carts " to the right of the chosen domains, then click on "Checkout" (followed by the "shopping cart" icon) in the top right-hand corner to continue to the next step.

Renewing from your domain list (recommended)

You can also renew several domains at once from your Gandi account. Log in to your Gandi account and go to :

Dashboard

Once in the " DASHBOARD ", click on " View all products " (to the right of the main search field). Then click on "Renew" to the right of the products you wish to renew, before continuing by clicking on the shopping cart icon in the upper right-hand corner.

List view

Once you've logged into your account, go to the "DOMAIN" section. If you see "Renew" buttons to the right of the domains, you're in List View. Click on these buttons to add the domain renewal to your shopping cart. Continue the renewal process by clicking on the Shopping Cart icon in the upper right-hand corner.

Advanced View

You can also switch the list of your domains to the Advanced View (button to the right of the search field), tick the boxes to the left of the domains concerned, then in the menu opening at the bottom of the page choose [Renew]. Continue the renewal process by clicking on the Shopping Cart icon in the upper right-hand corner.

Renew from the domain management page

If you are already logged into the domain control panel (where you have access to the domain's features), click on " Overview " in the navigation menu.

On this page you'll find the options to renew the domain "manually" or to activate automatic renewal.

Please note that automatic renewal will not work if your domain has already expired. Your prepaid account must have a sufficient balance (or a credit card must be attached) for automatic renewal to work (see Automatic renewal).

Also check the "ORDERS" section under "BILLING" to make sure you don't already have an order pending payment for this same operation, as this would block automatic renewal.
