How and why to confirm your email address
Confirmation email sent from noreply@domainnameverification.net
What to do if you haven't validated the email and your domain has been suspended?
For domain names sponsored by ICANN (Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers), Gandi must confirm the validity of the email address registered on the domain owner's account. We therefore send an email to said email address in the following cases:
- when creating a new contact for the domain
- when the domain is created
- when transferring the domain to Gandi
- when the owner of the domain changes
- when changing the owner's email address
- Warning
- If you do not validate the owner's contact email address, the new domain(s) owned by this contact will be deactivated after 15 days, blocking DNS propagation and disabling all services.
The confirmation email is sent from noreply@domainnameverification.net
To carry out the verification process, Gandi sends a confirmation email to the address you provided for the domain owner contact.
This email is sent from the address "noreply@domainnameverification.net" and contains a link that you must click on (if your email software allows it), or copy and paste into your browser's address bar (if you forget any part of the link, it won't work). This link is unique and linked to your email address, and will look something like this:
https://check.gandi.net/?hash=tnkcba1285c33a86776a20xb9987353a6a20xb285c33
For security reasons, you will never be asked for a password during this process. Should you receive an error message in response to this link, please do not hesitate to contact Support.
What to do if you haven't validated the email and your domain is suspended?
If for any reason you haven't validated your email address within the 15 day period stipulated by ICANN, all domain names under this account will be suspended. You can restart this process by going to your account, to the management of one of the domains in question, and then to the "Domain Contacts" section. Any email addresses that have not been validated will be displayed in orange, with an information message and a button for resending the emails.
If the address is invalid, or if you don't receive the emails in question (probably blocked by your email provider's strict anti-spam policy), you'll need to change the email addresses in the same section.
