Webmail Recovery Codes
Save your Recovery Codes
Recovery codes are a second method for recovering access to your mailbox in the event of loss of the 2FA device.
Note
The codes that you generate on the Gandi Webmail Security Settings page can only be used on this page. They cannot be used to connect directly to one of our webmails.
To generate these codes, click on "Generate recovery codes", then save them in a secure location, such as a password manager. Make sure you store these codes in a secure location to which you'll have access even if you lose your 2FA device.
Disabling POP, IMAP and SMTP
If you want maximum security for your mailbox, you'll need to disable the POP, IMAP and SMTP protocols. As these protocols do not support 2FA, you can only secure your email address by disabling them. However, disabling these protocols will prevent you from using email clients such as Thunderbird, Outlook or Applemail.
To disable these protocols, go to the Email Access section of the Webmail Settings page, and toggle the 3 switches so that they are grayed out. Don't forget to save your settings afterwards (Save settings) so that the changes go into effect.
Once these three steps have been completed, your email address will be fully secured and will use 2FA.
