Common creation problems
Migration help: Common errors when creating a V5 account
Apart from an incorrect username format or a password that's too "weak" (which increases the likelihood of your account being compromised), you may encounter two types of error when creating your V5 account.
Note
As a reminder, the V5 username must not be in the same format as a V4 handle, nor can it be an email address. It can only contain alphanumeric characters (A to Z and 0 to 9) and the underscore "_" symbol. The username is not case sensitive (i.e. there is no difference between upper and lower case).
Your username is already in use
This means that someone (or you) has already used this ID.
On the V5 platform, all usernames must be unique.
Choose another username or a variant (add a number to the end, for example).
Your email address is already in use
Just as the username must be unique, so too must the email address linked to an account.
Choose another email address.
We also suggest you check the email address that generated the error to determine whether it corresponds to one of your accounts containing products.
No more errors?
Perfect, you're almost done!
