"migration required" error when activating a mailbox

If you encounter the following error when activating a new mailbox on a Gandi domain: this means that the mailbox domain was created before April 2026 -old version-

Mailboxes cannot coexist between the "Domain" menu (Mailboxes-forwarding tab) and the new "Email" menu.

To enable you to create new mailboxes on the domain, you will need to contact Gandi Support by submitting a request through the contact form.

The team will  take care of migrating all mailboxes linked to the domain for you.
