Accepted Payment Methods
A. The Prepaid Account
What is a prepaid account?
The Gandi prepaid account is a “ money reserve ” that you can top up at your convenience, and that allows you to pay for any Gandi operation by choosing this means of payment when finalizing your order.
Please note that the prepaid account will not appear as a payment method if it is not activated, or if it has a zero balance. It is therefore necessary to credit it first to activate it.
Track your prepaid account activity
You can review all operations carried out via your prepaid account (including registered and unregistered credit card payments):
- Log into your Gandi account, then go to BILLING.
- Select the organization for which you wish to check the prepaid account history.
- Select “Prepaid history” to access the history.
How to manually add money to your prepaid account :
- Log in to your Gandi account.
- Go to the “BILLING” section in the left-hand menu.
- Select your organization.
- On the Overview page, select “Credit your prepaid account”.
- Enter the amount you wish to add, as well as the payment method.
- Fill in the payment details and complete the order.
Prepaid account threshold
Via the “Automatic payments” tab in the menu, you can set a threshold at which you will be notified by email when the funds in your prepaid account fall below a pre-defined threshold.
Setting a prepaid warning threshold
- Log into your Gandi account, then go to the BILLING section.
- Select the organization you want.
- In the tab menu, choose “Automatic payments”.
- In the Prepaid account parameters block, click on “Manage”.
- In the Minimum threshold alert field, enter the amount at which you want to be notified when money is taken from your prepaid account to pay for an order. The alert will of course activate at this value and below.
- Click on “Save”.
The amount you have chosen as the threshold will now be displayed in the block.
By clicking on the “toggle” ( )you can temporarily deactivate the minimum threshold function.
Automatic crediting of prepaid account
If you have set a threshold, registered a credit card and set an amount to be credited automatically, (only) after each order will the system check whether the threshold has been reached. If this is the case, the system will attempt to credit your prepaid account with the set amount, using your registered (and pre-authorized) credit card.
Please note that for this to work, two conditions must be met:
- You must have a valid credit card registered on your account.
- You must have placed an order on your account after activating the option. This feature does not work retroactively.
To set an amount for automatic crediting :
- Log into your Gandi account, then go to the BILLING section.
- Select your organization.
- In the tab menu, select “Automatic payments”.
- Click on “Add a credit card” if you don't have one activated and registered.
- In the Prepaid account automatic settings block, click on "Manage".
- You'll see the field entitled Prepaid account automatic crediting. Enter the amount to be paid with your registered credit card.
- Click on “Save”. The set amount will now be displayed in the block, below the threshold amount.
Paying for an order with a prepaid account
- At the “Payment” stage (third step of the order process), above the list of payment methods, the message “You currently have €X.XX, which is not enough to pay for this order of €XX.XX” will appear:
- Click on the toggle (it turns purple) to use the prepaid account balance, then select one of the two payment methods below to complete payment of the order.
B. Credit cards
Gandi accepts the following credit cards:
VISA / Electron
EuroCard / MasterCard
American Express
Carte Bleue
Save a card without making a purchase
When you add a bank card to your Organization's prepaid account, a small authorization charge (usually €1.00) will be made to verify the validity of your card which will disappear automatically after a few days, and no amount will actually be debited from your account.
To add a credit card to one of your organizations, please follow these steps:
- Log in to your Gandi account, then go to the “BILLING” section (left-hand menu).
- Select the organization to which you wish to add a card
- Click on “Automatic payments” and then on “Add a credit card” to register a new card or add an additional one.
- “Choose a name for your credit card”: This is a name used only in your account to identify your card. Once this has been done, click on “Submit".
- Enter your credit card number and details on the bank's website.
- Once the card has been validated, you will be prompted (or directly redirected) to Gandi's website (depending on your bank).
Saving a card during a purchase
If your card accepts pre-authorizations, you can save it to your organization(s) as shown:
- During your transaction (or when you manually credit your prepaid account), at step 3, choose to pay by credit card.
- At checkout, you'll see an option to save your credit card for future purchases. Be sure to check this option.
- You'll then be asked for a name under which to save this card. Choose a name that allows you to easily identify the card.
Set a default credit card
The “default” card will be the one used for automatic renewals and purchases. If you have registered more than one card, you can change the default card if you wish:
- Log in to your Gandi account, then go to “BILLING” in the left-hand menu.
- Select the organization in question.
- Click on the “Automatic payments” tab.
- Search for the desired card and click on “Use as default”.
C. PayPal
The minimum payment by Paypal is 10.00 €. The difference will be automatically credited to your prepaid account. You will be able to use this “surplus” for all or part of a future payment.
If you choose this payment method, you will be redirected to the secure PayPal site, where you will be asked to enter your PayPal (not Gandi) login information.

E. Bank transfer
Please bear in mind that international bank transfers can take up to a week (7 days) to reach us. We therefore strongly advise you not to use this type of payment for urgent orders, such as the renewal of products nearing their expiry date.
* Orders are processed upon receipt and validation of payment, without exception. *
To ensure that your transfer is processed as quickly as possible, please adhere to the following guidelines:
- Enter the exact amount of the transaction, including bank charges. Gandi does not pay the transfer fees.
- For the SWIFT transfer network (mainly international transfers), “OUR” must be used as the instruction in field 71A “Details of Charges”. This indicates that you will be charged a transfer fee.
- Enter the Transaction (order) Number in the transfer title. (This part is ESSENTIAL for timely processing of your transfer. Without it, it will remain pending identification by our accounting department).
A transfer received without the reference (Transaction Number) cannot be processed, as we have no way of knowing for which account and/or order the transfer was made. If you have made a transfer without specifying this reference, please contact our Support Team.
