Using Organizations
Gandi products (domain names, Web Hosting, Cloud Servers, etc.) are managed through a collaborative system of “organizations” that lets you share the management of your products through the use of teams.
If you manage and purchase products for many clients you may also consider joining our Reseller program:

Our Resellers vs Organizations page explains the differences between the two ways of working with your customers through Gandi.
How to Use Organizations
An “organization” is a unit that represents a company (or association, public body, or even a user) with a set of legal and billing information. An organization can buy and own Gandi products.
An organization belongs to at least one Gandi user, who can manage it and the Gandi products belonging to it.
Through the use of “teams”, the owner of an organization may also grant full or partial rights on the products of an organization to other Gandi users.
A single user can own or manage multiple organizations, with a specific set of rights on each one of them.
How to Create an Organization
Organizations are the way Gandi allows you to purchase and manage Gandi products for a legal organization such as a company, association, or other legal entity. This organization will be the legal owner of the products purchased for it.
There are three places where you can create an organization:
-
From the organization menu: After logging in click “Organizations” in the left menu. You can then click “Create” to create a new organization.
-
From the first step of checkout : When you click on the cart icon (checkout) the first step is to choose a Billing address. At this step you can choose an existing organization or create a new one, then continue the process.
-
From the Shopping Cart: When you arrive at checkout, you will be presented with a form that you can use to select an organization, or create a new one.
Warning
The organization you are creating will be the owner of the domains bought for it, and the recipient of the invoices. It must be a real company, association, or public body for which you have the legal right to purchase products at Gandi.
When you create your organization you will be asked to provide some contact information. As you do this, you need to be sure to not confuse two fields:
-
“Organization display name” or "Username": This is a modifiable name used to represent your legal entity on our website. It can be recognized by this icon:
- “Company name”: This is the actual, legal, registered name of your company, association, or public body. This name cannot be changed. It can be recognized by this icon:
